EVERTON: LAMPARD BAGS ANOTHER WIN

Frank Lampard has masterminded the first win of the season for Evertonafter the slim away win over League One side Fleetwood Town in the second round of the EFL Cup. Frank Lampard and Everton were winless before the game against Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium on Tuesday.

English winger Demarai Gray scored the only goal of the game as Everton secured their place in the third round via a 1-0 away win over Fleetwood Town. He made it two goals in two games in all competitions with his strike against the League One opposition in the first half. The only goal of the game from Gray arrived two minutes before the half-hour mark. For the third round, Frank Lampard and Everton would be the guests of Bournemouth who are newly promoted in the Premier League this season.

Lampard and Everton are without a win in the Premier League this season. The Toffees are yet to win any of their first three league games this season. Everton began the new league season in the English top flight with the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea at home. Jorginho scored from the penalty spot just before the end of the first half after Ben Chilwell was fouled by Frenchman AbdoulayeDoucoure. For their second league game of the season, Danny Ings and Argentine substitute Emiliano Buendiascored for Aston Villa either side of the half-time break on the way to a 2-1 win at home to Everton. The Toffees scored their lone goal through the own goal from Villa left-back Lucas Digne. For their third league game of the season, Everton came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest. The opening goal from Forest winger was cancelled out by the abovementioned Gray with the two goals scored in the final quarter of the game.
Frank Lampard and Evertonwould be hoping to build on the win over Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup second round when they take on hosts Brentfordin the Premier League on Saturday. Everton are still looking for their first league win.
