TERRY CREDITS LAMPARD FOR CHELSEA SUCCESS

Aston Villa assistant manager John Terry is certain thatfellow Chelsea legend Frank Lampard played a big part in the successes recorded at the club this season despite his dismissal as the Chelsea manager in January.

Frank Lampard was sacked by club owner Roman Abramovich after a difficult run in the league. He oversaw just three wins in his final 11 games in the Premier League and that ultimately led to his unfortunate exit.

Terry drummed up support for Frank Lampard and the work he did at the club before the arrival of his successor Thomas Tuchel in an exclusive interview with The Times. According to him, Lampard played a major role in the achievements recorded under Tuchel since the German tactician arrived at Chelsea in January and that he helped groom young players like Mason Mount and Reece James.

England internationals Mount and James were regularly performers for Chelsea while Lampard was at the club and they have continued to maintain that form under Tuchel. Frank Lampard gave the two players their breakthroughs in the Premier League.

Mount was recently named the Player of the Season at the club after an impressive outing for the Blues over the course of the season . He has been influential for the Blues as they secured one of the four Premier League slots available for Champions League football. Tuchel met Chelsea in tenth spot when he replaced Lampard in the Stamford Bridge dugout and has been able to take the team to fourth position. The German led the West London club to fourth place at the end of the season on Sunday.

Apart from securing Champions League football, Mount and James played their respective parts as the Blues reached both the FA Cup and Champions League finals.
