LAMPARD ON PALACE MANAGERIAL SHORTLIST

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is reportedly on a three-man managerial shortlist at Crystal Palace ahead of the new season which starts in August. This is according to the report from Football Insider which revealed that Frank Lampard is on the shortlist alongside Eddie Howe and Burnley boss Sean Dyche.

South Londoners Palace have started the search for a new manager with current manager Roy Hodgson set to retire when his contract is up this summer. 73-year-old Hodgson is expected to announce his retirement soonest.

Lampard has been without a jobsince he was sacked by Chelsea in January. The ex-Blues midfielder was sacked by the club after a poor run in the league. He was replaced by German tactician Thomas Tuchel who has since taken the West London giants from ninth to fifth on the Premier League standings. In addition, Tuchel has guided the club to the Champions League quarterfinals.

Frank Lampard led Chelsea to fourth spot in the midst of a transfer embargo in his first season at the club before things fell apart from him in the middle of his second season as the Blues manager. Since his Chelsea exit, Frank Lampard has been linked with the managerial role at clubs like Celtic and Bournemouth.

Howe is said to be the favourite ahead of Dyche and Lampard for the Palace job as per the report earlier mentioned. The Ex-Bournemouth boss impressed in his two spells with the Cherries and has been linked with the Celtic job just like Lampard. He led the Cherries to their highest finish of ninth place several seasons ago.
For Dyche, the Burnley manager has been able to keep the Clarets in the Premier League on a low budget. He is one of the most respected English managers in the game.
