LAMPARD IN NORWICH CITY TALKS

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is in talks to become the new Norwich City manager. This is according to the report from Daily Mirror which stated that Frank Lampard is the frontrunner for the managerial job at Norwich City. The England international is said to be one of the three candidates on the Norwich City managerial shortlist.

Norwich City are looking for a new manager after Daniel Farke was sacked by the club. The German ended his four-year spell at Norwich City with an away win at fellow newcomers Brentford in the Premier League. It was the first win for Norwich City in the English top flight this season. The Canaries raced into a two-goal lead in the first half through the impressive Mathias Norman and TeemuPukki spot kick) before Rico Henry pulled one back to setup a grandstand finish. In the end, Norwich City held on for an important win. The Canariesmoved off the bottom of the Premier League tabletemporarily with the victory over the Bees. They were back at the bottom on goal difference after Newcastle United picked up a point from their trip to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Farkebecame the Norwich City manager in 2017 and he masterminded the promotion to the Premier League two seasons ago. However, Farke and the Canaries were relegated after one season in the English top flight. The German brought Norwich City back up this season after spending last season in the English Championship.

Frank Lampard is undoubtedly one of the best players to ever grace the Premier League , but he has not recorded the same measure of success since he became a manager at Derby County in the Championship three years ago. He led the Rams to the playoffs in his only season at the club before they were beaten in the final by Aston Villa. He went on to become the Chelsea manager. Lampard was sacked at Chelsea at the start of this year.
