Frank Lampard Would Love to Return to Chelsea As a Player

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard says that he would still consider returning to the English Premier League outfit as a player.

The midfielder is the club’s all-time top goalscorer with 211 goals and he managed to get these goals in 13 years at West London. He was recently pictured at Stamford Bridge enjoying one of the games, and this has sparked rumours that he may return to the club in a coaching capacity. Even though Lampard also represented the likes of West Ham and Manchester City during his time in England, he is widely considered as Chelsea through and through.

There has been some animosity from the fans after he chose to play for Manchester City in the last year of his time in England, but it has been quickly forgotten. Lampard is currently with New York City FC where he has once again demonstrated his goalscoring abilities to the maximum.

However, has just let his contract expired and Lampard is yet to will his next plans. He has surprisingly revealed that he would be open to the possibility of returning to Chelsea’s player at a time when many would think about entering into coaching. The 37-year-old remains as one of the fittest players even at this age. Chelsea are reportedly considering the possibility of taking on Lampard as a coach.

“Myself and John are Chelsea through and through so whatever happens, in some capacity I will be at Chelsea. Whether it’s with my season ticket, watching them, I don’t know yet – I’ll have very close contact. Whether I’ll have the role [as a player], it’s not all in my hands so I can’t go any further on that.I’m very relaxed about it, which is a nice place to be. If the right thing comes, I’ll take it. Obviously Chelsea, I’d love that, but it doesn’t work that way always,” said Lampard.
