EVERYTHING HAS IMPROVED SINCE LAMPARD LEFT

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicuetahas stylishly thrown a shade at former manager Frank Lampard by saying that everything has improved since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard as the Chelsea manager. Cesar Azpilicueta talked about the Frank Lampard era at Chelsea in comparison with Thomas Tuchel during an exclusive interview with Spanish newspaper MundoDeportivo. According to him, results have improved significantly since the appointment of German tactician Thomas Tuchelin place of the sacked Frank Lampard and that the team has better feelings with Tuchel in charge. Cesar Azpilicueta also pointed out that he was fortunate to share the dressing room with Frank Lampard before he became his coach at the same club.

Cesar Azpilicueta was not a regular under Frank Lampard at Chelsea after the Blues legend preferred Three Lions of England right-back Reece James to him in his starting XI for the majority of the Premier League games that he managed this season before his sack. Since Thomas Tuchel arrived, club skipper Cesar Azpilicueta has been restored into the starting XI as part of a back three. Unlike Frank Lampard who favoured a back four, Thomas Tuchel has played a back three during his short time as a Chelsea manager. Chelsea have improved a great deal since the era of Thomas Tuchel started at the club. Frank Lampard left the Blues in ninth position on the league standings when he was sacked by the club last month but the good form shown during the Thomas Tuchel era has taken the club to fifth place and within two points of the top four . Under Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions, including a run of four wins and two draws from six games. On the dismissal of Frank Lampard, Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta said the decision was the responsibility of Roman Abramovich and the board.
