LAMPARD NOT RULING OUT SPURS BUT GIVES NOD TO CHELSEA

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard opines that his former club would emerge the winners of the Premier League at the end of the season.

However, he praised Tottenham Hotspurs as worthy opponents. Chelsea saw off their opposition Everton FC 3-0 and Spurs followed suit. Spurs defeated Arsenal to keep up the pressure on Chelsea.

Chelsea remain league leaders by four points but any slip could see a dramatic end to the current season. For now, the Blues remain the heavy favourites to lift the title.

“[Spurs] could still maybe win the league but looking forward they’ve got a great team there. Player for player across the team,” Lampard said. The all-time goalscorer for Chelsea advised them to add “an absolute superstar” or strengthen the squad.

Lampard highlighted Chelsea coach Antonio Conte and Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino as “the best managers on current form” in the league. He added that Chelsea’s “comfortable run-in” should be able to deliver them the title.

“I can see them both winning all their games and Chelsea winning the league, possibly. Chelsea have to be favourites from here,” Lampard said.

Pedro gave Chelsea the lead with a stunner. After the team doubled the lead, Cesc Fabregas came on in the 82nd minute to give Willian an assist for the third goal.

On the other hand, Spurs with goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane buried Arsenal 2-0. Christian Eriksen has his shot saved before Alli scored the rebound in the 56th minute. Barely two minutes later, Gabriel fouled Kane and the referee pointed to the spot. The Three Lions striker stood up to convert it. The victory over the Gunners means the title chase continues. They visit West Ham United next.
