Lampard Held Impressive Season With Chlsea

John Terry has already extended his stay with Chelsea as the veteran defender will be remaining at Stamford Bridge at least until the end of the upcoming season but there are a number of other performers in the Premier League club that have a contract which is reaching its end in the next few weeks and a contract extension remains unclear.

Ashley Cole has sparked the attention of Inter Milan; the Italian side has already signed Nemanja Vidic from Manchester United and is keen on adding more influential and veteran players to their squad.

Frank Lampard went through an impressive season with Chelsea as the English midfielder has proved that even at his 35 years of age, he is able to compete and play head to head with some of the younger players of the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho failed on winning any silverware in this recently concluded season with Chelsea and the Portuguese coach is determined to change things around in the upcoming campaign and giving Frank Lampard a contract extension would be the better choice for him to do.

Lampard continues being one of the leaders at Stamford Bridge both on and off of the pitch with consistent performances throughout the entire season, Mourinho is edging towards offering the veteran midfielder the chance to continue performing with the main squad at least for another season and some fans are even claiming that Lampard is a candidate of becoming a manager of Chelsea when he decides to hang up his boots and retire.

The 35 years old midfielder is expected to sign a contract extension with Chelsea in the next few weeks or even days while Ashley Cole’s future remains a little more dubious as the English defender has not enjoyed such an impressive campaign compared to other players in the squad.
