Kompany Praises Lampard

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has praised the attitude of summer signing Frank Lampard. The former Chelsea midfielder recently joined City on a six-month loan deal before he heads back to New York City FC in order to play in the MLS. Lampard has been one of the model professionals in the last decade after the 36-year-old has managed to rise to the top of the game through sheer hard work. While at Chelsea, Lampard frequently received a lot of praise for his attitude in training despite his age. Players who reach the end of their careers stop trying new things, but this does not seem to be the case with Lampard.

Kompany says that Lampard has brought an infectious attitude with his training regime. As a result, the City captain says that the England international has the ability to become one of the best players for the club in the first six months. Since will be at City on a short-term loan deal, many do not expect Lampard to make an instant impact at the club. He was not part of the 2-0 victory over Newcastle United on the opening game of the season. However, Kompany says that Lampard has all the attributes, despite his age, to be a major player for City until Christmas.

"I think all of the signings will make a big difference. Just watching Frank Lampard in training for example. People won't tip him as one of the players to make the biggest difference for us this season but he looks amazing, unbelievable. The new guys as well - Mangala, Zucculini, Sagna - are all players that will improve our team and give us a good chance of having a good season," said the Belgian international, who is regarded as one of the finest defenders in the world now.
